CITS Accountable Lead – Tom Hockensmith

Description: This project will establish Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) framework & presence for a variety of use cases and investigate posture checking capabilities to evaluate remotely connecting devices. The appropriate technical set up has taken place and we are ensuring that we are able to scale up quickly if added users dramatically increase in number. The Maryland Poison Center is now using AVD and progress is being made with the Schools of Pharmacy and Dentistry. We have a plan to move forward with Central Administration and the remaining schools

Description: Replace the older security cameras on campus to ensure better coverage and public safety. We have made all of the existing Public Safety cameras operational. We are currently assessing expanding the camera coverage across campus in key areas.

Description: eDisclose, a financial disclosure reporting/tracking system currently used by the School of Medicine, was implemented for use by the rest of the University. The full launch occurred January 20, 2026. The implementation of an entitlement system to help automate the monitoring of appropriate access to the system is in progress.

Description: Implementation efforts continue with our partner, Huron. The project completed its Test phase, but it has been determined that we need to better prepare the user communities for this change. Readiness preparations, trainings, and practices are being conducted as we continue toward our October 12, 2026 launch of the new system.

Description: Facilities and Operations is changing its construction project management software, eBuilder, with a system that will directly integrate with their overall management system. We have nearly completed documenting the requirements.

CITS Accountable Lead – Diane Faranetta

This project replaces Philanthropy's current fundraising system, Advance. The development quality improved. Development was completed and “smoke testing” to ensure all functionality was available in June. Our final user acceptance testing takes place in July 2026, followed by readiness activities and training. We are targeting go-live for mid-September 2026.

CITS Accountable Lead – Brian Coats

The Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) system had been maintained and administered by the IGS (Institute for Genome Sciences) group within their own computing environment. CITS now maintains a regular instance as well as a Secure Research Environment (SRE) instance. CITS has is transitioning existing research projects from the IGS instance into the CITS instance.
