The UMB shuttle contributes to a vibrant, dynamic University community by transporting Íøºì±¬ÁÏ, Baltimore (UMB) students, faculty, and staff to and from the University. The UMB shuttle provides the University community with a variety of bus routes that travel to neighborhoods such as Mount Vernon(discontinued Jan.2027), Federal Hill, and Canton/Fells Point.

Riding the UMB Shuttle

ID Required

A Valid UMB ID cards must be presented and swiped on all card readers when boarding the UMB shuttlePlease have your ID ready (out of the case) when boarding the shuttle.

Per-Ride Fee

Faculty, staff, affiliates, and postdocs will be charged a fee of $1.75 per ride (one way) to use the UMB shuttle. Riders will need to pre-load their UMB One Cards with funds either online or at a campus kiosk before boarding the shuttle. Starting August 3, 2026, fee per ride will increase to $2.00 (one way).

Starting August 3, 2026, faculty, staff, affiliates, and postdocs can enroll in a monthly pass. The fee for the monthly pass is $30, riders will need to pre-load their account with funds monthly online. More information will be coming soon on this new program.

Drivers will not be equipped to accept cash at any time.

Guest Policy

Non-University-affiliated individuals are not permitted to ride the UMB shuttle. Íøºì±¬ÁÏ Medical Center employees are not permitted to ride the shuttle under any circumstances

Finding Your Way Around

Look for the UMB shuttle sign! Transfer from one route to another at the UMB shuttle hub, located under the Pearl Street overpass or at the Fayette Street intersection.

Disclaimers

  • Drivers stop at every stop inbound and outbound while traveling the route.
  • Please use the “pull cord” when requesting a designated shuttle stop
  • Drivers will not stop at unscheduled locations or for late passengers.
  • Heavy traffic on certain routes may cause delays, so please allow some variation in scheduled times.

Please Note

  • The UMB shuttle runs from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Friday. 
  • UMB shuttle buses are ADA compliant and equipped with bike racks.
  • 703 Fed Hill leaves the hub at 5:55 a.m.
