This project will integrate global perspectives into the “Animals and the Law” environmental seminar and develop new learning opportunities focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through UMB's Agricultural Legal Education Initiative. The project will focus on global strategies to mitigate the risk of zoonotic disease. I will design interventions to reduce risk of disease transmission, develop educational content on safe practices in high risk human-animal interactions, and recommend policy to disrupt existing patterns of disease spillover.
