This project will develop global health electives for third- and fourth-year medical students, expanding the UMB-UTH Zambia program and building relationships with Indian Health Service sites. Students will participate in a structured pre-departure program to discuss the complex factors influencing global health disparities. Students will rotate for 4-6 weeks at a partner site to provide clinical care under the supervision of experienced local physicians and UMB visiting physicians. Students will meet with UMB faculty upon their return to reflect on how their global health experience will inform and enhance their care delivery moving forward.
