Effective leadership is vital for academic programs to achieve their goals. Health professions academic leaders must be able to lead people from diverse backgrounds, and it is important for them to understand global leadership principles. This project will integrate principles of global leadership in the Leadership Theory course to equip students with the tools necessary for effectively leading diverse people. Additionally, case studies drawn from different countries and cultures will be incorporated in the course. The case studies will illustrate leadership issues and dilemmas that students might encounter in their academic leadership roles or as leaders within their clinical practice.
