Now that my family is vaccinated, 16 of us (all vaccinated) would like to get to get together from across the country for an overdue funeral. Are we putting ourselves at risk for the variants that can break through the vaccine?

The CDC just revised guidance for the fully vaccinated. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated-guidance.html

The good news is that fully vaccinated people are able to:

Visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing

Visit with unvaccinated people (including children) from a single household who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 disease indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing
Participate in outdoor activities and recreation without a mask, except in certain crowded settings and venues (in crowded settings where there may be a large number of unvaccinated persons it is still recommended to wear a mask)

Resume domestic travel and refrain from testing before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel
Therefore, your family is free to mourn together and celebrate the life of your loved one(s) that have perished over the past year.
