Hi. This is a follow up to my question on 4/9 that starts with 'We're confused about the CDC recommendations...' Thank you for your thoughtful answer. Trying to fit 8 visits in a day certainly seems unsafe. But would 2 visits in a day be safe? Would visiting one household one day, and another the next be safe? (But not getting carried away and visiting different people 7x a week). One way to interpret the CDC recommendations is that by visiting a single unvaccinated household at a time, they're recommending you 'bubble' with one at a time. And that would mean if you want to visit with a second household, you should refrain from seeing the first unvaccinated household long enough to be sure you haven't been infected (10-14 days). That seems overly conservative to me, but I'm just not sure where to draw the line, and don't have a good framework for understanding the relative risk.

There is no need to self-quarantine between household visits and the vaccines have been proven to be so effective. I think the plan for 1 visit per day sounds prudent. Having an odd day with 2 visits is not extreme. We should use common sense and recognize that we’re not out of the pandemic yet, but we also want for there to be hope to slowly return back to some normalcy.
