I have not taken a single COVID vaccine shot since the outbreak a few years ago. Not the vaccine and neither the follow up booster shots.I would like to ask an expert if it would be safe for my body to take a shot now after so many years of having COVID in my system and having built natural immunity against it.Problem is that I still experience fatigue and other symptoms from time to time as and when a new COVID strain comes along.I need to figure out a way to decide whether the latest version of the vaccine is safe to take or should I get a prescription for an anti-viral every time I feel I’ve been infected.Keep in mind, I’ve never had any serious complications and have never been hospitalized because of COVID.
There have been 3 years of global experience with Covid vaccines, demonstrating a very strong safety record. I advise that you proceed with obtaining your primary series of vaccination. The vaccines protect against severe symptoms and complications from acute infection and also can reduce your risk of developing long-term consequences of Covid (Long Covid). Your admission that you “experience fatigue and other symptoms from time to time” may be due to Long Covid with one of your prior infections.
