Hello,I'm a 58 year old single, white, female and I tested positive for Covid for the 4th time today. My doctor prescribed Paxlovid on January 23rd. My only symptom now is fatigue. Would another round of Paxlovid help me test negative next time? What else can I do to get out of this positive test loop? I'm drinking water & the Pedialyte Advanced to stay hydrated.Thank you in advance for any advice you can provide. Have a great day!

Paxlovid is only to be initiated within the first 5 days of symptoms with a Covid infection, not beyond 5 days from onset. You are describing having some symptoms (fatigue) approximately 10 days from onset of symptoms. Therefore, another round of Paxlovid is not recommended. The testing that you describe is helpful for informing you as to whether you still may have some residual infectious virus in your nose or mouth—a measure of whether you can still be infectious to other people around you (your transmission potential). So, I strongly advise that you wear a well-fitting mask, such as a KN-95 mask, whenever you are in public spaces and to limit your time in public spaces.  Drinking water, Pedialyte Advanced, or any other fluids, vitamins, nutritional supplements, or other things will not have any meaningful affect on your transmission infectiousness. It is always a good idea to stay well-hydrated and eat nutritious foods at all times, but this does not mean you have to ingest commercially-prepared supplements.
