Hi how can I ensure an accurate covid rapid test result? I was exposed, so far I have no symptoms on day 7 from exposure. I wore a mask when I was around the person Friday. That weekend they let me know they tested positive.I usually rely on the accuracy of PCR tests for testing but I feel unsafe getting one because at one of the few testing centers here in new york city, the nurses and doctors wore NO MASKS or wore them incorrectly only over the mouth. I would hate to be negative but go get tested and contract the virus at a place that doesn’t take proper precautions so I will have to rely on the rapid. So far I have been testing very 48 hours with antigen tests, do you have any more tips to improve accuracy?

You have been using the rapid antigen tests judiciously and wisely. An option that has recently become available is at-home PCR testing—Pfizer sells a test kit that is called Lucira.   Nonetheless, you have correctly pointed out that wearing of masks is one of the most important measures to help reduce risk of Covid transmission.
