Recovery from a Covid infection is variable and depends on the severity of infection, whether there is much underlying immunity (through vaccination or successfully surviving a prior Covid infection), and whether there are any complications with the infection (such as the worsening off a pre-existing medical condition). The best scenarios are for rapid recovery within a few days. The poorer scenario is that a person may never recover and may suffer from Long Covid indefinitely--we have witnessed some people with Long Covid that has persisted for >2 years.
