If spread of COVID19 is mostly person to person, why do establishments strongly discourage people from using their public bathrooms, particularly ones where restroom occupancy is one at a time?

The virus is spread by respiratory droplets.  Large droplets fall to the ground after they are coughed, sneezed or breathed out.  Small droplets tend to stay afloat in the air longer.  In small rooms with limited airflow, like bathrooms, these droplets can hang out in the air for a while after someone leaves the room making the next person that goes in potentially infected if the preceding person was shedding virus. There is also the worry about spread of the virus from feces and by touching surfaces.  Its much safer to stay out of small rooms shared by others, like bathrooms.
