I received the Pfizer COVID vaccines in April 2021, and then the Moderna Booster in December 2021. I also received a flu vaccination in September 2022. I have had reactions to these vaccinations- typically a fever, body aches, and with the flu vaccine a migraine that lasted for days. I tested positive for COVID on August 15th, 2022. I am looking into the bivalent vaccination. Will any reaction I have to this vaccination be worth the protection it offers? From my understanding, the bivalent vaccine offers a child dosage of the Omicron vaccination and a child dosage of the original COVID vaccination together in one vaccine. Is this enough to protect against both variations of COVID? I want to protect family and friends over the holidays, but I don't want to experience such a strong reaction to the vaccine. Thank you.

Yes, receiving the bivalent booster dose will provide some additional protection. However, everyone should also be practicing masking when in indoor public spaces and seek out improvement of air quality (opening windows to bring in fresh air or filtration of air with HEPA filters).
