I presume this question is regarding testing positive for SARS-CoV-2, though I could be wrong as there are multiple highly infectious and important respiratory viruses currently circulating and causing very high hospitalization rates throughout the U.S. (e.g., influenza and respiratory syncytial virus, also known as RSV). For reducing the risk of infecting your baby with ANY respiratory virus, you should be wearing a well-fitting mask when near your baby. I also would encourage that you provide improved air quality by using a HEPA filter unit in the baby’s room. Normal or standard hand hygiene and cleaning is encouraged.
