My family was exposed to Covid five days ago. All hime tests negative. My daughter had a fever for a brief hour or two today but bounced back. Are my children a risk to other children now? They have disabilities and are both in special needs classes with vulnerable kids.

I would assume that the brief illness was caused by some infectious agent (not necessarily Covid, but still an infectious agent that can be passed to other people). However, if all members of the family are well and tested negative for Covid, then I believe it is okay to be out of quarantine. Nonetheless, I would continue to wear good-fitting masks when out in public and to practice social distancing when you are able. Covid continues to be transmitted at relatively high levels in many communities, so I would continue to conduct yourselves with precautions to protect your vulnerable children.
