Hi! My family member became symptomatic on 5/29. He tested positive on 6/1 and began Paxlovid that day. He still has fatigue but has otherwise recovered. Never had a fever. We tested him last week twice and there was a very faint positive line still. Today, he had a doctor's appointment and they required that he retest. Today his result was just as positive as the first day, very dark. Does he need to isolate again? He has never been symptom free. Thank you!
I would continue isolation for another 5 days and then re-test. The rapid antigen test kit positive suggests that your family member is still shedding detectable virus.
