I have had 4 Covid shots but all were a long time ago: 1/15/21, 2/15/21, 8/13/21, and 9/3/21. I am 70 yo female in good health. I will be flying to see my elderly mother in August. Should I get another Covid shot? Timing? Now or before I fly? What about vaccine
According to the dates provided, the last dose given 9/3/2021 was a dose administered too soon from the last booster dose. Booster doses are to be administered ~4 months after the last booster dose. It appears that you might have been given a repeat of a “primary series” with the doses administered on 8/13/2021 and 9/3/2021 spaced exactly 3 weeks apart—this would have only been appropriate for the Pfizer mRNA primary series vaccination. I cannot explain why you appear to have been given your 4th dose of vaccine at the time indicated, as this appears to be an error.
It appears that you should be eligible for a booster dose now—I suggest a booster dose now or at least 2 weeks prior to visiting your elderly mother.
