If I have a mild breakthrough case, will it get worse if I hang out with someone else who's infected? IE does viral load make a difference once the immune response is already activated?

We do not know if the viral load or severity of symptoms is affected by being exposed to another person who is infected. However, if these were to be two different variant viruses mingling together then this could present a situation for creating a worse virus (re-combination of the viruses). It is suggested that a person who is infected observe the isolation period while trying to minimize contact with person’s outside of your immediate family or your household.
