There are some data which suggest that children on immunosuppression have overall lower risk, compared to adults, of severe COVID-19 infection (). However, we do not know whether this is an observation that is true; the studies have not been systematic and there could be underreporting of cases. We know that some children may experience a very severe multi-system inflammatory syndrome, it is rare but for children on immunosuppression I would fear that the risk of this complication could be higher than non-immunosuppressed children. Data worldwide continues to be collected and we will know more about COVID for those persons on immunosuppressive therapy as time progresses. Stay tuned as this information becomes known.
