A couple questions about Covid transmission. I just bought a mirror from target that was not in packaging. After bringing it home and putting it in my room, if there was Covid on the mirror from droplets, etc that occurred while it was in target since there was no packaging on it&. Can I become infected from the mirror just being in the same room as me? Through my fan and air circulation Blowinf the air all around that would have the infected droplets from the mirror? Or would I have to touch the mirror and then touch my face in order to get it? Essentially can it be spread by a fan and air circulation if its on an object even if you dont touch the object?

There is a mechanism of transmission that is called “fomite”, which basically is through the touching of a contaminated surface and then touching your own mucous membranes (eyes, mouth, etc.) to transfer the virus for an infection.  Most scientists believe this is a very minor mode of transmission of Covid, as the airborne route is the major mode of transmission.  The virus does not survive for very long times on dry surfaces, such as the mirror. The blowing of air across the mirror would not generate infected particles unless you suggest that the mirror’s surface is very dusty and the dust particles could have been grossly contaminated and could become lofted into the air with a strong air current.  This is not likely.  I would simply suggest a wipe-down of the mirror with gentle soap and water, which would also clean the mirror to a nice shine, and then declare your new addition to your home safe!
