Good Morning, I had the Moderna vaccine in March and then unfortunately got Covid in November. I had the Regeneron Monoclonal Antibodies on Nov 20th because I was already very symptomatic and have chronic health issues (plus a high BMI). I know it's suggested to wait at least 90 days after to get a booster. That would be November 18th for me. However I am leaving for college this week and will be exposed to a lot of Omicron at school and my original vaccine is almost a year. So I'm not sure I have any protection left. Would it be wise to get my booster a week early? 82 days vs 90 days? Just wondering if that week would be safe and/or would the vaccine work? I'm just so worried about being exposed without any antibodies at this point. Please let me know your thoughts and opinion on this. Thank you!!

This is a difficult personal decision. The CDC recommends that you delay your booster dose until ~90 days after the Regeneron Monoclonal Antibody therapy, so that calculates to February 18, 2022. Living in the campus dormitory setting means that you will be in close living quarters with a lot of other students on campus and eating at the campus’ cafeterias—the congregate eating situation means a lot of unmasked people with which you could be exposed. The delay of 90 days is an approximation that is based on the estimated half-life of the antibody and a few days difference probably will not make a large difference in your ability to respond to the booster dose.  Thus, I would advocate for you to complete your booster dose before returning back to campus.  Nonetheless, while on campus the safest approach is to try to avoid crowds, remain masked at all times (using a well-fitting mask such as a KN95 mask), and improve your indoor air quality through increasing ventilation or HEPA filtration.
