If you had a confirmed infection then you technically were in “isolation”. During that time, your roommate should have been in “quarantine” and separated from you and you both should have worn a well-fitting mask when in shared spaces. Regardless of the rigor of your prevention measures, now your roommate is confirmed to have the infection and must begin their time of “isolation” from others. You have just recovered from the infection but since there may have been re-exposure to the virus, there is the possibility that you could be infectious to others. You may visit your family but you must wear a mask and try to practice physical distancing as much as possible. I would exercise caution, but you may visit with your family and warn them of this event.
