COVID vaccines are saving lives. COVID vaccines are intended to reduce the risk of serious effects of infection (e.g., hospitalization and death) and should not be expected to stop all transmission and infection. So, a lot of people who have been vaccinated and boosted are still getting mild or asymptomatic infections but few are experiencing hospitalizations or deaths. [figures below from New York Times. ]
