I recently got diagnosed with COVID-19 at really bad timing, two weeks before my audition recording. I'm a trumpet player so this is definitely bad timing. I live with my family, isolated upstairs in my room. My family doesn't want me to practice trumpet as they have heard things about coronavirus propagating through singing and other activities where air exits quickly from your body. My question is : Would playing trumpet in my room with the window open and the door closed increase the chances of my family catching COVID-19?

Yes, open a window and close the door shut is absolutely the way to go.  Improving ventilation and ensuring that air does not exchange between your room (or the rooms within which you are isolating) and the remainder of the house is a crucial aspect of reducing the risk of your family members from getting Covid from you.  You can also place a trumpet mask/cover on the instrument to reduce the amount of aerosols projected into the air.  Also, your family members should maintain masking, physical distancing, etc. when out in public spaces, as there is high-risk of transmission out in the community.
