Two months ago, my father was infected by SARS-COV-2 virus and got sick with moderate COVID-19 symptoms such as aches and pains, sore throat, headache and loss of taste and smell, except Pneumonia and this is the good news. Spent two weeks fighting his sickness before he started to recover. He performed RT-PCR at the beginning of his 1st symptoms and found positive. He performed a lot of medical analysis during this period as requested by his doctor. VNS, FNS, CRP proved this infection at the beginning and start to disappear and reached the normal rates after three weeks from the 1st symptoms appeared. D-Dimers also showed perfect. After the 3rd week he performed serology testing for IgG / IgM rates to find his Immunity response and to know if he's recovering or if he still holding the virus. We found that IgG and IgM are both positives, and this is normal and indicates that hes in recovery phase, however this took so long, as we repeated this serology tested every 15 days, always found IgG and IgM still positives. I would like to know if he is still contagious or he can return to his normal life? Because he still self isolated at the moment.
He is not required to further quarantine. The antibody test is not a test of acute infectiousness.
