Is it unconstitutional to switch the presidential ticket to replace the presidential candidate with the vice presidential candidates if the presidential candidate drops out of the election?

The Constitution says nothing about how presidential candidates get on the ballot.  This is a question of state and federal law.  Under state law at present, the major parties determine who will be their nominee.  Whether the abide by the primaries is a tactical choice, not a legal choice.
