I've gone through the history of the 13th amendment fairly thoroughly. There is a great deal of evidence that persons in 1865 thought that the denial of rights to raise children was a badge and incident of slavery. There is no evidence that anyone in 1865 thought the right to deny support to a biological child or a child one had a legal obligation to support was a badge or incident of slavery.
