Can a presidential nominee from one party have as his/her running mate an individual who is a resident from the same state as the presidential nominee?

No member of the electoral college may select a president and a vice president from their home state.  However, a member from Maryland may support a president and vice president from New York (or any state other than Maryland), so a presidential ticket willing to sacrifice one state could include a president and vice-presidential candidate from the same state.
