There are a number of clauses in the Constitution that suggest that the president is not an officer of the United States. For example, the president commissions the officers of the United States, suggesting that perhaps the president is not an officer of the United States. However, overwhelming evidence supports your view that the president is an officer of the United States for purposes of Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment.
