Is it constitutional for a state to make electors vote the way the state voted and not allow them to pick who ever they want.

IN CHIAFALO V. WASHINGTON, THE SUPREME COURT UNANIMOUSLY HELD THAT STATES MAY REQUIRE BY LAW THAT ELECTORS VOTE FOR THE PERSONS THEY PLEDGED TO VOTE FOR.  WHETHER THAT IS CONSISTENT WITH THE FRAMERS UNDERSTANDING IS CONTROVERSIAL.
