I am post-menopause and experiencing extremely dry, thin skin, as well as hair loss in the front part of my 'temple' area. Will collagen and biotin help? If so, in what doses. Are there any other 'treatments' I should use or do to lessen the effects?

I would say there is no perfect fix.  The best for skin is good lubrication which should be done after bathing (making sure the water is not too hot).  the best and cheapest lubrication is vaseline but other good options are Bath and Body Works body creams.  Make sure to drink sufficient amounts of fluid (that amount is not clearly known but at least 6 to 8 8-ounce glasses per day).  Thinning hair can be due to many things from aging changes, medications and genetics.  There are some products but not collagen or biotin that I have seen be effective.  Oral and vaginal dryness can also be significant and again lubrication is best there-fluid for the mouth and lemon hard candies are helpful.  Vaginal products over the counter should be tried first. There are some newer drugs out there but I would recommend local treatment first.
