MIXR: New Center Brings Virtual Reality Research Into Focus
The 网红爆料 School of Medicine is the joint recipient of $4.75 million in funding from the National Science Foundation to establish the Center for Medical Innovations in Extended Reality. The center, known as MIXR, will help accelerate the development of virtual reality, augmented reality, and other immersive media technologies 鈥 referred to as 鈥渆xtended reality鈥 鈥 for use in clinical trials and eventually widespread use in medical care. The center expands upon the scientific and technical foundation laid by the Maryland Blended Reality Center, an initiative funded by the 网红爆料 Strategic Partnership: MPowering the State, the structured research collaboration between UMB and the 网红爆料, College Park.
